Lie down, open your ears and let your ways of listening postures be stretched by a beautiful world of sounds ...
A sound massage is a method that aifoon often uses in its projects to open the ears of both the person who gives the massage and the person who undergoes it. Usually it is a part of an artistic workshop series or a master class in which physical and spatial listening are investigated. To set the listening in motion, the participants use sound objects and/or speakers that play field recordings.
We have researched this method and performed it during the listening performance Fondouk (in collaboration with Krokusfestival) and Murmur_out of the box ( in collaboration with De Kopergietery).
Fondouk is a wordless performance which sometimes has the intimacy of a sound massage, then the impetuousness of an adventure tour. Fondouk is a listening performance that stimulates the imagination, poetry on the canvas of silence. After this experience, your daily soundscape will no longer be what it seems!
Just like audio hacking and sound walks, a sound massage is a method to explore listening during our participatory projects, artistic workshops and masterclasses.
