Listen to the difference between indoor and outdoor sounds.

Zinderspin

What if you could touch sound and make it dance? Zinderspin is a playful sound installation that makes spatial listening tangible. You decide how it sounds and moves.

With Zinderspin, you determine how sound moves around you. Set the installation in motion and experience how sounds circle around you. Do you choose a soft, meditative tempo, or do you let the sounds whirl wildly around you? As the choreographer of this dance of sound, you create your own unique listening experience.

Zinderspin is a sound installation that surrounds you with sound: rural field recordings that take you on a journey from West to East. This playful construction, inspired by a mobile, consists of eight wireless speakers that rotate in circles around you. Zinderspin invites you to listen differently. Through the spatial movement of sound, you become aware of how sound surrounds us in everyday life.

The installation:

  • activates your spatial listening ability;
  • heightens your awareness of everyday soundscapes;
  • stimulates your imagination and creativity;
  • lets you taste a richer auditory world.
